Unique, accomplishment of porcelain with acrylics on canvas! 

Always expressing joy in creating ThelmaLou was born in Salt Lake City, Utah as Jill Elizabeth Ficklin. As a child she extensively traveled the four corner states fascinated with the textures, colors and culture of the region. She attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado, where her passion lead to studying and becoming proficient with acrylics, watercolors, perspective, color, and interior design. While in Wichita, Kansas, she taught Basic Drawing using mediums of pencil and charcoal, demonstrating multiple shading techniques. Her creative illustrations brought life to a book of poetry, written and published by her husband. Here she mastered pencil, ink and acrylics, where she was able to express the emotions and story of each poem.  One of her most heartfelt opportunities came with the wonderful experience of creating crafts for and with Special Needs adults. She utilized Zoom to continue to teach crafts using many mediums.Today, with her retirement and her ongoing passion of creating, she paints nearly nonstop. This brings her to a new iconic art method, bringing old back to life and into the main stream again. Her art Re-creates and is enjoyed by all who see it.This unique first time, accomplishment of incorporating fine China, porcelain, and ceramic objects with acrylics on canvas, has energy! She shares the joy of taking an old piece and giving it a new life, a new expression of love in a new form. ThelmaLou’s art pieces are easily displayed in a wide variety of settings, regardless of the decor of home, office or business. This approach of art is vibrating, exciting, and will enlighten and delight the viewer. All will want to have a ThelmaLou creation of their own!
